Motorcycle lessons in The Hague from the age of 24
From the age of 24, you can immediately opt for the heavy category motorcycle (A) (power of at least 50 kW). You must have a valid driving license or a theory certificate for the motorcycle.
The motorcycle license consists of two parts: AVB (vehicle control) and AVD (traffic participation). You always start with motorcycle driving lessons AVB where you learn to control the motorcycle through exercises on a parking lot in The Hague. You conclude this with an exam at the CBR. Many driving schools offer free CBR exams to make it easier to obtain your driver’s license.
If you have passed the AVB, you will continue with the second part of the motorcycle driving lessons (AVD) where you will learn to become a safe and independent motorcyclist. Before you can take a practical exam for this, you will need the theory certificate for the motorcycle. It is wise to start with your motorcycle theory as soon as you start your motorcycle lessons. Motorcycle driving school The Hague
If you are 18 years old, you can already take the exam on a motorcycle with a cylinder capacity of up to 125 cc and 11 kW. This is category A1. You can take motorcycle lessons from the age of 17. This training is otherwise the same as the training for 24 year olds.
After 2 years in possession of a motorcycle license A1, you can take the exam for the A2 motorcycle license at the age of at least 20. This is the category up to a maximum of 35 kW. This motorcycle exam consists of only an AVD section in which two exercises from the AVB section can be requested during the motorcycle exam. PLEASE NOTE!! From 1 January 2014, direct entry for this category of motorcycle lessons is possible without A1.
Another 2 years later, at the age of 22, you can take the most difficult category motorcycle A (unlimited power / minimum 50 kW). This motorcycle exam is exactly the same as the motorcycle exam for category A2, although two exercises from the AVB section may also be requested during the ride.

Which motorcycle license should I choose?
There are different motorcycle licenses, these are divided into A1, A2 and A. With the A1 license you are allowed to drive light motorcycles, these are 125 CC and 11 KW. This is followed by the A2 license, with which you are allowed to drive medium-heavy motorcycles, these go up to 35 KW. How old do I have to be to take motorcycle lessons?
You can take your theory exam for the A1 driving license at the age of 17. You can then also take driving lessons at the age of 17, provided you pass the theory exam. Once you turn 18, you can also take the practical exams. Can I take a free trial lesson?
No, the trial lesson is not free at our motorcycle driving school. The trial lesson is considered the first driving lesson and can possibly be part of a package. Packages are available from 4 motorcycle driving lessons in The Hague. There are also packages available that include the practical exam for your motorcycle license.
Can I get my motorcycle license quickly?
That depends on how much talent you have for riding a motorcycle. If you think you are ready for the practical exam for your motorcycle license, you can apply for the exam. There are already packages available with 4 motorcycle lessons of 90 minutes. So you can quickly get your motorcycle license, but this is entirely up to you. One person needs 6 lessons, while the other may need 20 lessons. This varies greatly per person and cannot be determined in advance. However, we can make an estimate after you have taken a first lesson. The driving instructor can best estimate this after he has seen you at work on the motorcycle.
What are the practical exams for road use and vehicle control?
Traffic participation is the practical exam that you will have to take at the CBR if you want to get your motorcycle license. This exam lasts about 35 minutes and is done on the public road. This is also called the AVD exam (General Traffic Participation).

Some rules and conditions
If you choose to end your driving training at Verkeersschool De Ridder due to a move or other reasons, you are eligible for a refund of unused tuition and exam costs, two years after the start of your lesson package. See BOVAG conditions. The amount to be refunded does not include any lessons or exams already scheduled. An administration fee of €45.00 will be charged.
If you still have driving lessons credit from your package after you have passed your driving test, you will simply get the amount of the driving lessons back. An administration fee of €29.00 will be charged.
