Driving lessons in a calm and safe way
Driving in a car is difficult enough for people with driving anxiety. That is why our instructors have followed a special training that allows them to deal with these situations in a calm and safe way. In order to let our students get used to it at their own pace, a safe and quiet environment will always be sought for lessons.
We try to familiarize you with the car and the road at your own pace. Only when you feel that it is going better, the next step is taken. In this way, you can work on your driving anxiety and dealing with the car and the road in a calm and relaxed way, and we are happy to help you with that.
Application for the practical exam
For students with Autism, there is a special procedure for applying for a practical exam. Below we explain exactly what you need to do before a practical exam can be requested by us at the CBR:
Please note!! New rule for Adhd and Add, you no longer have to report if you were diagnosed before the age of 16 and are not taking any medication
- Fill in the Health Declaration in full, you can do this online at mijncbr.nl
- Wait for an answer from the CBR as to whether or not you need to see a doctor.
- The CBR will assess your driving suitability based on the Health Declaration and the inspection report.
- If you are suitable, the CBR will personally contact you for a driving test.
- If the driving test is positive, you will receive a written decision from the CBR that you are fit to drive. The driving school can request the practical exam.
Good to know
- It is important that the inspection is carried out by a specialist who is independent, knows the driving licence requirements well and has knowledge of autism spectrum disorders. You can therefore only choose a specialist who has been appointed for this by the CBR.
- The specialist must give you the opportunity to view the inspection report in advance and correct any factual inaccuracies.
- You pay for the driving licence inspection yourself with the specialist. The CBR has no influence on the price. The maximum rates for driving licence inspections are set by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa). You can find more information about this at www.nza.nl.

Some rules and conditions
If you choose to end your driving training at Verkeersschool De Ridder due to a move or other reasons, you are eligible for a refund of unused tuition and exam costs, two years after the start of your lesson package. See BOVAG conditions. The amount to be refunded does not include any lessons or exams already scheduled. An administration fee of €45.00 will be charged.
If you still have driving lessons credit from your package after you have passed your driving test, you will simply get the amount of the driving lessons back. An administration fee of €29.00 will be charged.
- Installment amount is invoiced periodically (depending on the number of lessons and the costs of the package).
- You must agree to the General Terms and Conditions via the Driving License app.
- Submit your health declaration to the CBR (via the CBR website, log in with DigiD).
- Authorize the traffic school via the CBR for the category B interim test and B practical exam.
- All invoices must be paid before the practical exam is taken
