GET YOUR MOTORCYCLE LICENCE IN THE HAGUE, HOW DOES IT WORK?
We have KNMW certified motorcycle instructors who will guide you intensively in blocks of 2 hours. During the first boarding driving lesson, the motorcycle instructor will work with you to determine which motorcycle courses are best for you. The motorcycle licence has two parts: first the AVB (vehicle control) and then the AVD (traffic participation).
A lighter motorcycle requires a driving licence A1 (light) and / or A2 (medium). Do you want to get your motorcycle licence in The Hague for a motorcycle with more than 50 kW power? Then you need to obtain the full A motorbike licence. Please note, this is only possible from the age of 24 and if you are in possession of a valid car driver’s licence or a theory certificate for the motorcycle.
TAKING MOTORCYCLE CLASSES AT VERKEERSSCHOOL DE RIDDER IS POSSIBLE FROM THE AGE OF 18!
If you are 18 years old you can already take an exam on a motorcycle with a cylinder capacity up to 125 cc and 11 kW. This is category A1. With the motorcycling lesson itself, you can even start from 17. There is no difference between the training for a 17/18 year old and the training for a 24 year old.
If you have been in possession of an A1 motorcycle licence for 2 years, you can take an A2 motorcycle licence exam at the age of at least 20. A2 is the category up to a maximum of 35 kW. This motorcycle exam consists of only one AVD part where two exercises of the AVB part can be asked during the motor exam. BUT WATCH OUT!! From 1 January 2014, direct influx for this category is also possible (without A1).
At the age of 22, again 2 years later, you can take an exam for the heaviest category motor A (unlimited power / minimum 50 kW). This motorbike exam is completely identical to the motorbike exam of category A2, where two exercises of the AVB part can also be asked during the ride.
